Material Configurator – ALFA Case Study

See the material. Exactly as you will experience it.

The Challenge

Alfa Wood offers a wide range of surfaces, including melamines, flooring, acoustic panels, and wall claddings.

However, the selection experience relied mainly on samples and physical presence, creating a clear limitation:
the user could not easily understand how the materials would work within a space and in real-life applications.

The need was clear:
to create a solution that would allow any user — from anywhere — to apply and evaluate surfaces on furniture, flooring, and walls, without the presence of a salesperson.

The Solution

A complete 3D material experience configurator was developed, bringing Alfa Wood’s surfaces into realistic environments.

Four different spaces were created:

  • 2 kitchens,
  • 1 living room,
  • 1 bedroom.

In each space, users can apply materials to real surfaces —
furniture, flooring, and walls — and instantly view the result.

The experience functions as a digital showroom, available anytime, from any location.

What It Offers

  • Ability to select materials remotely without relying on a physical store
  • Instant understanding of how each surface is applied within the space
  • Transforming material selection from a simple sample into a realistic experience
  • Increasing customer confidence before making a decision
  • Unifying all product categories into one integrated platform

Beyond simple presentation, the system allows users to accurately visualize the final result —
bridging the gap between material and real-world application.
