Armchair Configurator – INNOVA Case Study

See comfort in motion — and materials come to life.

The Challenge

INNOVA’s armchair is a product with multiple versions and functionalities.

It can be transformed:

  • from manual to electric and lift,
  • change armrests,
  • modify backrests and ergonomics,
  • adapt to different usage profiles,
  • be configured with different bases, as well as fabric and leather options.

At the same time, the company chose to operate in the market without a physical store, relying exclusively on e-commerce.

The challenge was clear:
how can such a complex and highly customizable product be accurately presented when the user cannot see or test it physically?

The Solution

A high-precision 3D configurator was developed, accurately representing both the form and functionality of the armchair.

The user can:

  • selects a mechanism (manual / electric / lift),
  • changes armrests, backrests, and base,
  • chooses between different fabrics and leathers,
  • fully configures the product in real time.

The user accurately sees the movement of the armchair, the function of each mechanism, and the transition between positions.

This transforms the experience into a digital showroom for functionality and materials.

What It Offers

  • Complete understanding of form, materials, and functionality
  • Combination of options (mechanism, base, materials) without complexity
  • Realistic user experience through animation
  • Ability to purchase without physical presence
  • Reduction of errors in selections and orders
  • Perfect match between selection and final product

This is not a simple presentation.
It is an experience where the user designs, views, and understands every detail — before making a decision.
